# SaaS access & checkout contracts

Versioned SaaS catalog, CheckoutIntent, subscription lifecycle, entitlements and authoritative provider reconciliation.

SONIC billing is modeled as versioned commercial state rather than frontend plan constants.

## Catalog

A plan points to an entitlement set. Price versions are append-only and include currency, atomic amount, decimals, interval, interval count, tax behavior, effective period and catalog version/integrity data.

## Subscription snapshot

Subscription purchase/renewal snapshots the exact commercial fields used for that event, including:

```
pricePublicIdSnapshot
priceVersionSnapshot
priceAmountAtomic
priceCurrency
priceDecimals
priceInterval
priceIntervalCount
priceTaxBehavior
catalogVersion
```

Historic records are never rewritten because a later price version becomes active.

## CheckoutIntent

A durable checkout intent binds user/workspace, plan and price version to one idempotent commercial flow.

Recommended status:

```
CREATED → PROVIDER_PENDING → COMPLETED
                   ├──────→ CANCELLED
                   └──────→ EXPIRED
```

The browser's success URL is not payment authority.

## Provider events

Payment-provider events are signature-verified, deduplicated and reconciled safely when delayed or delivered out of order. Subscription state and entitlement refresh happen from trusted provider evidence.

## Subscription status

Application policy can distinguish `trialing`, `active`, `past_due`, `grace_period`, `paused`, `cancelled` and `expired` rather than collapsing all non-active states into one error.

## AI Credits

Subscription grants and credit-pack purchases produce ledger grants. Generation/model operations later reserve and settle against those grants. The subscription record itself is not the credit balance.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://sonic-ai-works.gitbook.io/sonic-networks-docs/api-reference/saas-access-and-checkout-contracts.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
