# 2026-09-02 — SaaS pricing, auth & redirects

SONIC Studio now sits behind a unified SaaS access layer instead of accepting anonymous dashboard entry.

## Added

* server-backed Free, Creator, Pro, Studio and Enterprise plan definitions;
* separate subscription entitlements and workspace RBAC permissions;
* email/password authentication, email verification, password reset and database-revocable signed sessions;
* centralized onboarding for goal, workspace and plan selection;
* validated internal `returnTo` redirects and a short-lived one-time Web → Studio handoff;
* role-aware Studio/admin navigation and session-management UI;
* durable SaaS checkout records with immutable price snapshots;
* trusted payment reconciliation before subscription/entitlement activation;
* team/workspace subscription inheritance without making invited members billing owners;
* period AI-credit grants through the Credit Ledger rather than a mutable plan balance;
* cancel-at-period-end / no-automatic-refund behavior.

## Hardened

Paid reconciliation now records `PAID` before activation and deduplicates subscription activation by checkout identity. The legacy direct paid-subscription activation endpoint is disabled. Protected Studio middleware fails closed when access-policy resolution is unavailable.

Added **SaaS pricing, authentication & access** under Application & Website and **SaaS auth, subscriptions & access** in the API Reference. Login and checkout documentation now match the implemented server-authoritative flow.
