# Connect a Solana wallet

Step-by-step setup for connecting Phantom, Solflare, or Backpack to SONIC AI Works.

Connect a supported self-custodial Solana wallet to use wallet-aware SONIC features while retaining control of your keys and approvals.

> **Important:** wallet connection is not transaction authorization. Connecting exposes your public address to the application. Funds move only when you explicitly approve a transaction in your wallet.

## Supported guide set

This Help Center documents:

* Phantom
* Solflare
* Backpack
* connection troubleshooting and security checks

## Standard connection flow

1. Install or open your wallet from its official source.
2. Create or import a wallet using the wallet provider's own onboarding process.
3. Ensure the intended **Solana** account is selected.
4. Open SONIC and choose **Connect Wallet**.
5. Select your wallet provider.
6. Review the connection request in the wallet.
7. Approve **Connect** only if the application/domain is the one you intended to use.
8. Return to SONIC and verify the displayed public address/account.

## Before signing a transaction

A later action such as payment, token purchase, or an on-chain operation may produce a separate wallet prompt. Verify network, asset, amount, recipient/program, fees, and transaction purpose before approving.

## MVP note

Wallet-provider availability and exact connection UI may change during the SONIC MVP. The security model does not: connection identifies the wallet; each signature or transaction requires a separate user approval.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://sonic-ai-works.gitbook.io/sonic-networks-docs/help-center/connect-a-solana-wallet.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
