# Credits & billing FAQ

## Why can credits appear reserved while a generation is running?

The platform can hold the required credits before sending external generation work. This prevents a completed job from becoming unaccounted usage.

## What happens if generation fails?

A terminal provider failure should release or refund the reservation. Retries of the same logical operation should not create a second reservation.

## Why do historical prices not change when the catalog changes?

Subscriptions keep an immutable price snapshot, including the amount in atomic units, currency, decimals, interval, tax behavior, price version, catalog version, and integrity context.

## How are decimals handled?

Financial/token amounts are stored as integer atomic units and interpreted with explicit decimals. Display rounding is not used as the accounting source of truth.
